I was just working on some tasks one afternoon in Cafe Noriter in Dumaguete when I received a plurk message from one of my friends way back in high school.
Nicole: Ey Ed, let’s go around town and have a photoshoot. I want to change my blog header and plurk layout. I shoot you, you shoot me. At least you brought your DSLR.
Honestly, I was still busy with work but then I figured I could skip some time and try to get this opportunity to also practice my shots. Also, rarely have I heard Nuke (Nicole) to tell me to take pictures of her and I was really surprised at her pro-activeness of offering to be captured.
So went to the Boulevard in Dumaguete and proceeded to the Silliman ballfield/park or whatever you call it. People were really staring at us but we she didn’t care much. At least I’m not living there anymore. hehe.
Nuke, visit her site at nicole.gotdns.com

Went to Argao last Monday to get some sun and sand. I’ve always wanted to go to Mahayahay beach because of skimboarding. I’m not an expert but I would like to know how to skim. I saw a picture in Youtube that Skim boarders are abound here especially during the rainy seasons which was of perfect timing since I was able to capture some shots in Argao.

Just came from the Caramoan islands and now I want to post more pictures in this site but as usual, I don’t have the time and I presume that I don’t have the time. haha. CamSur was such a blast, I’m still on a hight from the activities that we had plus the tan.

Night Shots
i2 Building Roofdeck
Asiatown IT Park, Cebu City
Went up to the roof deck of the i2 building in Asiatown, IT Park and tried some night shots. These type of shots were the ones that I was never able to achieve using my Olympus point and shoot camera, or maybe I didn’t tweak it as much as I wanted to. Anyway, I had a bit of a time trying to position the camera because I didn’t have a tripod with me; I used the edges and the bars of the building to take these photos.
Got pretty messy at some points too because I had to kneel down. There was even a creepy part when suddenly a person went up to me while I was waiting for the camera to load. When I looked at who that was, it was the security guard of the building whom I thought at first tried to stop me from taking pictures. I was already reprimanded some time ago for staying there with no business. He thought I’d probably jump off the building. harhar.
So here’s my first attempt at night photography.

I listened to a friend’s advice about putting my watermark at the center of my snapshots. She told it’s to prevent people from copying or getting my works and displaying them for their own sake. I didn’t really mind it much before but she did prove a point. It’s not that I want the photographs to be all for myself alone; that’s why I created this blog, to let other people see some of my works.
My friend also advised me to create a trademark and use it in every photo. Because as you can see, I still haven’t decided how I’m going to put it. The different pictures in this site have different labels with different fonts. I’m still searching for that perfect signature to put. As for now, I’m trying to come up with one.
